New Digi-WaveTM Interpretation Modes Now Available

Eden Prairie, Minn. – Williams Sound has packed even more functionality into the Digi-Wave DLT 300 digital transceiver.  In addition to its current, true interpretation mode – where interpreters hear the floor language in their headset while simultaneously transmitting the interpreted language on a separate channel – the DLT 300 now boasts even greater flexibility, ease of use and portability with the addition of the new Bilingual and Relay modes.

Bilingual Mode enables an interpreter to quickly and seamlessly switch the transmission channel when s/he switches between different target languages. Now, an interpreter can react quickly when the floor language changes.  There is no need to change gears, rewire or instruct the audience to change channels.

Relay Mode enables one interpreter to act as the relay language – a worldwide first for a completely portable solution. There is no need for an interpreter console or a base station to offer relay capability. Relay mode gives event coordinators more flexibility when hiring interpreters, because no additional equipment is needed.

According to Per Persson, international sales director for Williams Sound, “Digi-Wave is already one of the most powerful, handheld interpretation devices on the market.  These new interpretation modes build on that incredible reputation by further enhancing its capabilities.  We have worked closely with several interpretation partners to develop these new modes.  Early feedback from the interpretation market has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic, expressing sincere appreciation for how this new functionality can benefit both interpreters and event companies.”
