George Mason University Upgrades HD Studio with Ross
Posted on Thursday, February 16, 2012
Iroquois, ON, Canada – February 16, 2011-GMU-TV (George Mason University) in Fairfax County, Virginia upgrades their HD Studio with a Ross Carbonite 2 Multi-Definition Production Switcher and XPression Character Generator, with plans on upgrading a second studio in Spring 2012.

GMU-TV provides Telecourses for distributed learning, public affairs programming promoting community involvement and community outreach for public awareness.

“Mason has a number of staff familiar with Adobe CS software, and we felt that the XPression interface would make for a comfortable transition when upgrading our old CG to HD,” said Greg Smalfelt, Director of Engineering, GMU-TV. “We have always been long time fans of Ross’ switchers, and Carbonite has lived up to our expectations. None the less, we were very excited to have David Ross stop by GMU to not only see how the installation went, but to sign our Carbonite Switcher.”

“It was a great experience visiting GMU,” said David Ross, CEO, Ross Video. “Every month I travel somewhere in the world to meet our customers and I was fortunate last month to meet the dedicated and enthusiastic team at GMU as one of my stops. Meeting customers is essential to understanding what they need and what it takes to continue to build a company to support them.”
