NTI Now Offering USB 2.0 Extender via CAT5e/6

AURORA, OH: Network Technologies Inc (NTI) today announced the addition of the 1-Port USB 2.0 Extender via CAT5e/6 to its popular line of USB Extenders. The USB Extender extends one USB 2.0 device up to 100 feet.

The USB2-C5-LC extends one self-powered and/or bus-powered USB peripheral device, such as a security camera, printer, scanner, keyboard, etc., up to 100 feet using CAT5e/6 cable. Each extender consists of a local unit that connects to a computer, and a remote unit that connects to a USB device. The local and remote units are interconnected via CAT5e/6 cable.

The unit can extend up to 200 feet by using two CAT5e/6 cables to connect the extender to an Ethernet switch: the local unit connects to the Ethernet switch using a single CATx cable up to 100 feet, and the remote unit extends from the Ethernet switch using a separate CATx cable up to 100 feet. The extender supports high-speed (150 Mbps), full-speed (12 Mbps), and low-speed (1.5 Mbps) USB devices with transparent data extension.

Compliant with USB 2.0 standards, the unit also supports plug-and-play specifications. The extender is compatible with PCs or laptops running on Windows XP/Vista/7 and supports 32- and 64-bit operating systems. With compact dimensions of 2.01x1.57x0.98 inches for the local unit and 3.19x1.69x0.91 inches for the remote unit, the extender provides an ideal solution for extending a USB 2.0 device.
