Christie Projectors and Expertise Support IBC 2011 Fifth Year Running for ‘Big Screen’ Event
Two James Cameron Presentations use Christie CP2230 Models to Highlight 3D

IBC/AMSTERDAM – (9th September, 2011) – Christie® is pleased to announce that its popular Christie Solaria™ Series CP2230 projectors will be used to project/deliver the content during two presentations by CAMERON | PACE GROUP co-chairmen, Oscar-winning filmmaker James Cameron and Emmy-award winning cinematographer Vince Pace, at The IBC Big Screen theatre, as well as this event’s free movie screenings, 9-12 September, at RAI Amsterdam.

Specifically, the James Cameron and Vince Pace’s “3D Myth Busters: James Cameron and Vince Pace on the Business of 3D” presentation on Friday, 9th September, at 4 p.m., featuring the exclusive never-before-seen glimpses of dazzling footage from a yet-to-be-named Cirque du Soleil 3D motion picture supported by Christie DLP Cinema® projection technology. This same industry-leading technology will also be used to demonstrate an 18-minute reel from James Cameron’s “Titanic 3D” and “Flying Monsters 3D with David Attenborough” at the IBC Big Screen Monday Night Showcase at 6.30 p.m. on Monday, 12th September.

Dr. Don Shaw, Director, Product Management for Christie Entertainment Solutions, will present “Exhibitor Considerations for High Frame Rate 3D Technology” as part of the IBC A Stereoscopic Glimpse into the Future session, immediately prior to Cameron’s 12th September presentation.

IBC presenters will be able to screen any anticipated 4K content – the industry’s highest current resolution at 4096 x 2160 – should the opportunity arise, as Christie is also supplying its latest CP4200 projector for IBC screenings.
