Posted on Monday, October 22, 2012
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA, October 22, 2012 — Black Box Corporation (NASDAQ:BBOX), a leading communications system integrator dedicated to designing, implementing and maintaining today’s complex communications solutions, announced today that it has achieved Identity Services Engine (ISE) Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) status from Cisco in order to better support the expanding role of access control solutions that leverage the intelligence of the network. This designation recognizes Black Box Network Services as having fulfilled the training requirements and program prerequisites to sell, deploy and support Cisco ISE products and solutions.
The Cisco ISE platform is a comprehensive, next-generation, contextually based access control solution that offers exceptional visibility and control to ensure a highly secure enterprise and efficiently enforced security policy across an entire distributed network. The Cisco ISE offers authenticated network access, profiling, posture and guest management along with monitoring, reporting and troubleshooting capabilities on a single physical or virtual appliance. The Cisco ISE enables scalable and flexible enforcement mechanisms, leveraging existing identity-aware network infrastructure and ships on a wide range of physical appliances with different performance settings to address multiple deployment requirements.
“Black Box is proud to add the Identity Services Engine (ISE) authorization to our Cisco capabilities. This expertise enables us to help our clients effectively manage access to business-sensitive and confidential resources through an understanding of who and what are attempting to access their corporate networks. The concept of protecting business resources at the network perimeter is no longer sufficient in this age of mobility—as more and more personal devices are being allowed to access corporate intellectual property. Black Box is committed to helping our clients understand this technology, and more importantly, the business requirements and risks that go along with Bring Your Own Device (BYOD),” said Peter Marquis, Vice President of Black Box Network Services.
The Cisco ATP program is part of the go-to-market strategy for Cisco ISE solutions. The program helps define the knowledge, skills and services that channel partners need to successfully sell, deploy and support ISE solutions.
About Cisco Identity Services Engine and TrustSec Solutions
The Cisco ISE is a policy component of the Cisco TrustSec solution. A Cisco ISE solution can be deployed as an appliance or virtual machine to enforce security policy on all devices that attempt to gain access to network infrastructure. Integrated with the Cisco Prime Network Control System (NCS), Cisco ISE helps manage all devices more securely..
