Challenges:

To accommodate a growing workforce and client base the newly established conference center in Boston Landing stands out as a central hub for company-wide gatherings, team workshops, and cross-departmental meetings. Advances in presentation and collaboration technology also necessitated a refresh of the Audio-Visual systems to accommodate a more mobile and evolving workforce. A new, more user-friendly and self-supportive approach to the technology was required as additional rooms were added without needing equivalent increases in support staff.  The company also needed a large, extremely flexible meeting/gathering space with extensive AV technology, that was configurable and usable by non-technical staff.  The space would need to provide presenters, lecturers and trainers with the ability to easily interact with local participants as well as those joining remotely through a myriad of devices, located across the country.

Solutions:

Tritech engineers designed a variety of room types of various sizes throughout the space while one floor was designated as a conference center and houses the multi-purpose rooms as well as larger meeting/training rooms.  All these rooms feature presentation and collaboration technology that are intended to be user controlled.  Many rooms feature multiple, LG LED displays, which give meeting planners greater flexibility in room configuration and help maximize the space’s large windows with commanding views of this new section of Boston.  A curved Planar direct view LED video wall provides visitors and employees a unique way of viewing information about the company and events while helping create a productive and enjoyable environment.  A 20’ wide Planar video wall in the main lobby serves the same purpose.

All the AV systems share control and content over the Tritech designed and installed Crestron NVX network through local control panels as well as remotely through IP.  Audio systems rely on Sennheiser ceiling mounted microphone systems to pick up voices anywhere in the space while a QSC DSP system does the processing, distribution and delivery of local, remote and program audio.

Outcome:

TRITECH and the rest of the construction and design teams worked in close collaboration to successfully complete the facility.  The space has been well received as evidenced by the “smiles on people’s faces when they see the curved video wall” observed by Jason Hotaling, Tritech’s Project Manager for the project.
