Designed to support modern, flexible instruction, this divisible classroom combines intuitive collaboration tools with a fully integrated audiovisual system. The space can operate as two independent classrooms for simultaneous instruction or be combined into one large learning environment, with the technology designed to transition seamlessly between configurations.
At the front of each room, a 98-inch ViewSonic IFP9850 interactive ViewBoard serves as the primary teaching and collaboration surface. Instructors can present using the built-in ViewBoard software, a dedicated room PC, or wirelessly share content through Extron ShareLink. Regardless of the source, content can be routed throughout the space and shared into Microsoft Teams, allowing both in-room and remote participants to remain engaged with the same material.
Additional ViewSonic commercial displays provide strategically placed sightlines throughout the room. Instructor content, shared presentations, and the remote Teams audience can be routed to these displays as needed, ensuring students have a clear view even when the rooms are combined. Mobile 75-inch ViewSonic displays provide additional flexibility and can be positioned where supplemental viewing is most beneficial.
A Logitech Scribe whiteboard camera extends traditional whiteboard instruction to the entire audience. Handwritten content can be captured and shared through Microsoft Teams while simultaneously being mirrored to displays throughout the classroom, allowing students both near and far to follow detailed instruction without sacrificing the familiarity of a physical whiteboard.
Audio coverage was equally important to creating a consistent experience. Sennheiser TeamConnect ceiling array microphones were carefully positioned to capture both instructor and student voices throughout the space. This enables natural classroom discussion without requiring students to pass or share microphones. For instructors who prefer amplification, Sennheiser EW-DX lavalier microphones can also function as a voice-lift system, reinforcing the instructor's voice throughout the room while simultaneously providing high-quality audio to remote Teams participants.
Microsoft Teams integration is built around a Lenovo ThinkSmart Core with Logitech Tap control, providing instructors with a familiar, streamlined interface for starting and managing meetings. A Logitech Rally PTZ camera with automatic tracking and framing keeps the instructor appropriately framed as they move through the teaching area, reducing the need for manual camera operation. Remote participants can also be displayed on dedicated side displays or hidden when they are not needed, allowing instructors to tailor the room to the type of class being conducted.
Behind the scenes, an Extron XTP CrossPoint matrix and DMP 128 Plus audio processor provide the routing and processing required to make the system's flexibility possible. Sources, displays, microphones, speakers, conferencing equipment, and collaboration tools work together as a unified system rather than a collection of individual devices.
The result is a classroom designed around the way instructors actually teach. Whether hosting two simultaneous classes, one large combined session, a hybrid Teams meeting, an interactive presentation, or a traditional whiteboard lesson, the technology adapts to the instructor rather than requiring the instructor to adapt to the technology.
