In summer 2025, Biomedicum Hall 1 at the University of Helsinki underwent a major AV technology upgrade with the installation of a new Telycam Explore PTZ camera featuring a 1-inch sensor and state-of-the-art image quality. Installed as a core component of the hall’s presentation setup, the Telycam Explore is used for live-streaming lectures, recording presentations, and supporting hybrid events. This upgrade enhanced the hall’s presentation and teaching capabilities, providing an improved experience for both on-site audiences and remote learners.
Biomedicum Hall 1 already offers a mature technical environment: premium audio, professional video and lighting systems, advanced AV processing, centralized space control, and flexible connectivity to multiple platforms and services. The room’s AV control is managed via a Crestron interface designed for intuitive operation and reliable performance.
The hall is heavily used—from early morning until late evening—and often hosts first-time presenters. Because many users are unfamiliar with the space, the AV system must be straightforward, intuitive, and above all, dependable.
Why Choose Telycam Explore?
The University of Helsinki’s long-term experience with Telycam products contributed to the decision. Years of cooperation and proven results have built trust in the cameras’ performance and the manufacturer’s product responsibility. This existing relationship reduced deployment friction and ensured rapid value delivery.
With Telycam Explore and a Crestron control system, presenters enjoy a clear, reliable, and fully integrated AV experience, supporting the University’s growing needs for hybrid events, remote teaching, and live-streamed presentations.
