Media Vision Joins NGOs and World Leaders in Marseille to Facilitate Voting & Discussion at the International Congress for the Conservation of Nature

Description

A year after the congress was postponed due to the pandemic, the Media Vision team took to Marseille to join world leaders in sustainability for ten days of debates, voting, and resolutions seeking to tackle the interlinked climate and biodiversity crises.

Despite attendance being compromised by international travel restrictions, a temporary installation of over 800 conference units was required by the Members Assembly at Marseille’s Parc Chanot convention center. With individual IC-Cards distributed to participants upon entry, ministries, NGOs, and committees were able to access a request-to-speak button at their fingertips to carry out moderated discussion seamlessly. A built-in, and easy-to-use voting feature on the units then allowed for a series of Yes/No/Abstain votes, with the results being displayed immediately on projector screens positioned throughout the room.

Language presented its own challenge, with the congress taking place both in person and online in three official languages. To overcome this, Media Vision worked with a rental partner to provide simultaneous interpretation booths, interpreters, and transmitters that were handed to participants upon entry.

Project highlights:

  • 800 wired conference units, with a detachable stem microphone, a built-in speaker, a microphone activation button and a headphone jack with volume control.
  • Chairman units with a priority/mute key.
