Simulation: Naval Vessel - Lockheed Martin, Canada Navy Frigate Fleet, Sea Training Exercises
Description

OVERVIEW

The Frigate Vessel Crew Training System records crew actions during sea training exercises later reviewed with crew and instructors at the on-shore naval training facility when the vessel returns to port.

CHALLENGE

Needed an on-vessel recording of live out-at-sea crew exercises onto removable storage that could be removed from the vessel and replayed in After-Action-Review. The recording solution needed to exactly reproduce the complex details of the high resolution imagery and provide automatic recording backup.

SOLUTION

RGB Spectrum’s DGy™ JPEG2000 codec, offering superb recorded image quality onto convenient removable storage media. The DGy codec provides unmatched mission-critical reliability with its automatic backup feature and continuous 24/7 recording during multi-week sea exercises. Recordings are transferred from the vessel to the land-based Naval training facility.
