Paging All Animal Lovers

The Chicago Zoo in Brookfield rolled out an IP-based platform for paging, streaming announcements and music, emergency communications, and mass notification from Barix, all unified.

Joseph Niziolek, CTS, vice president at Progressive Communications Inc. conceptualized and implemented the system. “The zoo wanted a homogenous sound for the entire park. The same song is now synchronized as patrons walk from area to area. Music is always synched and provides a cohesive audio experience throughout the zoo.” As usual with bigger installations, special requirements where asked for so “Barix provided support to customize parts of the software” and made it easy to scale it very cost effectively.
