CYBERTOUCH AND MITSUBISHI DIGITAL ELECTRONICS AMERICA UNVEIL 32-INCH MULTI-TOUCH MONITOR AT DIGITAL SIGNAGE EXPO

IRVINE AND NEWBURY PARK, Calif., February 19, 2010 Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division, known for award-winning, high-quality, high definition presentation and display products, and CyberTouch, a global leader in touch-screen monitor integration and manufacturing, introduces CyberTouch’s Rio 32, a 32-inch (measured diagonally) multi-touch touch screen monitor, at the 2010 Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas, February 23-25, 2010 in Mitsubishi’s booth number 1213.

A touch screen is one of the easiest PC interfaces to use, and Cybertouch’s Rio 32 is a true multi-touch LCD monitor that recognizes up to 36 distinct actuation points, including single touch, gesturing, squeezing and pinching to make computing resources more available to untrained or handicapped computer users. Unlike its counterparts, Rio responds to gloved-hands, long nails and/or a stylus which also improve human-computer interaction.

CyberTouch’s touch-screen technology fits seamlessly onto Mitsubishi displays for high quality, accurately responsive touch-screen monitors.  With Cybertouch and Mitsubishi working together, users can enjoy a highly interactive experience without sacrificing visual performance,” said Abraham Gohari, president and CEO of CyberTouch.  “By offering a truly integrated touch-screen monitor with high-quality display, Cybertouch and Mitsubishi work together to stay at the forefront of touch panel integration.”

Because a multi-touch screen interface is more user-friendly than other input devices, overall training time for computer novices is reduced. Information kiosks, tourism displays, retail displays, and others are used by many people that have little or no computing experience. A touch screen can help make digital signage information more easily accessible by allowing users to navigate by simply touching the display screen.

“Touch integration is the wave of the future; and by partnering with Cybertouch, Mitsubishi ensures our high quality monitors have a high-quality multi-touch option,” said James Chan, senior director, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America.  “Our dealers now have even more options and installation flexibility with Rio 32.”

Rio 32 is the first product to be introduced in a large family of products scheduled to be released in the next few months. Rio 32 can be used on a stand or mounted on a wall and is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.
