A new Event Master upgrade and card lets users scale up their shows - big time
Posted on Tuesday, February 6, 2018
When Event Master was launched for event professionals, it was already designed to grow. A succession of new cards and firmware upgrades have enabled users to expand their possibilities. The latest upgrade and card - the 4K@60 tri-combo - allows them to easily scale up to produce larger shows.

Event Master 4k@60 output cardThe Event Master screen management systems offer extremely flexible, powerful and scalable solutions for events of all sizes. The E2 is designed for large shows, while the compact S3-4K offers similar performance, yet is more economical for smaller events. The Ex is an affordable processor which can link to E2 or S3 to provide additional inputs and outputs, locally or remotely, as well as providing additional processing resources.

More inputs, more outputs, more possibilities

With this new software upgrade, event producers can create even larger screens, with more inputs and outputs as well as a greater number of layers to work with. Enhanced linking means up to eight of the same chassis types can now be connected to create much larger systems.

The outcome? Incredible flexibility. For smaller shows, for example, the same units can be used to support multiple smaller systems. And in all formats, Event Master provides full 4K@60 4:4:4 12-bit processing and low latency.

"Super-Destination"? What's that?

Event Master can now be used to program so-called Super-Destinations. This is when images are projected on multiple screens separately, or as Super-Layers that span the larger single Super-Destination.

Along with the software releases 5.1, Barco is now shipping the new 4K@ 60 Tri-Combo Output Card.  Like the previously-released 4K@60 Tri-Combo Input Card, the new cards each support 4K@60 4:4:4 on a single cable via DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI for extra flexibility.  In addition, Quad 3G-SDI I/O supports 4K@60 as quadrants or 2SI (2 Sample Interleave) or may be used to support four independent HD signals.

The card and software upgrade will be unveiled at ISE 2018 at the RAI (booth 12-F100) in Amsterdam, February 6-9, 2018 or visit Barco image processing for more detailed info.
